Coverage of the 2016 Paralympics begins with the Opening Ceremonies on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:00pm (ET) on NBCSN. Our friends at the American Association of Adapted Sports Programs (AAASP) and Blaze Sports have teamed up to create Project Aspire with the hope to raise awareness, foster inclusion and generate resources for adapted sports. In their effort to raise awareness they have created web resources designed to assist individuals and organizations in hosting Paralympic viewing parties. The link to their website can be found below along with a link to the NBC Paralympic schedule of events.
The United States will be sending 267 athletes to compete in 20 different sports with 43 states represented. Thirty of these athletes are military veterans or activity duty. To learn more about the 2016 U.S. Paralympic Team visit the website here: Team USA
