Each season, rifle athletes compete in 3x10 matches with 10 shots each in the positions of kneeling, prone, and standing. The perfect individual score is a 300. Athletes that shoot a 292 or above during the regular season or the sectional and semifinal rounds of the playoffs are invited to participate in the state championship as an individual. This allows the athlete to compete for the top individual rifle title.
At the Riflery State Championship, all athletes, including those athletes who are members of the 17 qualifying teams, compete for the individual title. At this event, athletes compete in a 3x20 which increases the number of shots per position to 20 thus increasing a perfect score to 600. Individual athletes who acheive a score of 584 or higher at the championship have reached a level of marksmanship that is to be commended.
These scores recognize these outstanding effort and talents of athletes during the 2025-26 season.
