The GHSA Softball State Championships presented by Mizuno were held Oct. 30-Nov.1 at the South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus. First time state title winners were: Pope (6A), Heard Co. (2A, first state championship in school history) and Georgia Military (1A Public). Repeat champions include: Greenbrier (5A, 2nd - first since 2004), Buford (4A, 8th consecutive), Calhoun (3A, 2nd consecutive) and Eagle's Landing Christian ( 1A private, 2nd consecutive, 6th overall).
