PROTECTIVE HEAD GEAR – “All players are required to wear soft-shell protective headgear or headbands during GHSA-sanctioned flag football competition.” NOTE: This is a liability issue and players will not be allowed to participate without required headgear, and teams will not be allowed to play without team members properly equipped. Furthermore, if a team does not have protective headgear upon arrival at the game site the school shall be assessed a forfeit and penalty by the GHSA.
FLAG BELTS - Each player shall wear a one-piece quick release belt, without any knots, at the waistline with 3 flags permanently attached, 1 flag on each side and 1 in the center of the back. The flags shall be of a contrasting color to the opponent’s flags and contrasting color to the player’s lower body garment. NEW: Flags shall be one single color that contrasts any striping on the lower body garment, with no more than one 2 ½” X 2 ½” logo design. NOTE: Pop-off style belts are not allowed and if possible do not wear flag belts with yellow flags, as they can be confused with the official’s penalty flags.
SCHEDULES – Game schedules may be adjusted in the MIS System through September 30.
UNIFORMS – As the weather begins to cool down and players begin to wear long sleeve garments (jerseys, hoodies, etc.) they MUST be tucked into the lower body garment and the flag belts clearly visible.
GAMES – ALL games must be played until a winner is decided. The PSR system does not equate “tie games” in the ranking system.
