GYSSF to Provide Funding for Riflery State Championship

The Georgia Youth Shooting Sports Foundation (GYSSF), a 501(C)3 non-profit organization, in partnership with the Georgia High School Association is proud to provide funding this year to Riflery Teams competing for the 2015 GHSA State Riflery Championship.

The GYSSF was established in 2013 to provide funding for Youth Shooting Sports programs in Georgia. GYSSA accomplishes this by raising funds in various ways, but primarily in cooperation with the MidwayUSA Foundation.

“We are excited to participate in this year’s GHSA Riflery Championship, and trust that this is the beginning of a long and close relationship.”  said Roy McClain, President of GYSSF.

The GHSA State Riflery Championship Match will be held at the Ft Benning Pool International Rifle Range on Saturday, April 4.  The 14 qualifying teams and all individuals who qualified by posting a score of 290 or above in regular season Riflery matches are invited to compete for the title of State Championship Team and Individual for 2015.

Nearly $40,000.00 in total funding will be provided to the top 14 school teams and the top 8 individuals’ schools at the end of the championship competition, by way of their MidwayUSA Endowment Accounts.

“The GHSA is grateful to GYSSF for its support of the schools rifle programs. This partnership should be a positive for the growth of rifle competition in Georgia.”  said Gary Phillips, GHSA Executive Director.
