National Donate Life Month

Every April, organizations come together to recognize the life-changing impact of donation during National Donate Life Month (NDLM). Donate Life Month honors selfless organ, eye, and tissue donors and their families, celebrates transplant recipients whose lives have been changed, and brings hope to the thousands still waiting for a second chance.

The Georgia High School Association is excited to partner with LifeLink of Georgia not only in April, but throughout the school year to share the powerful message of saving lives. As part of this partnership, organ, eye, and tissue donation has been highlighted at GHSA sporting championships during the 2025–2026 school year and will continue into the next.

To highlight the lasting impact of donation during Donate Life Month, GHSA is symbolically changing its logo to represent how becoming a registered donor allows your story to continue.

Right now, more than 104,000 people—enough to fill Truist Park two and a half times—are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant, while tens of thousands more hope for tissue transplants.

Meet the Griffin family. In Georgia, football is a way of life, and Brantley Griffin was on his way to becoming a standout player. His parents, Matt and Mandy, remember him as a young man full of faith, kindness, and a willingness to help others—living by two simple rules: do right, and be kind.

At just 14 years old, Brantley’s life was tragically cut short in an accident. In the midst of unimaginable loss, and surrounded by the support of their community, the Griffins chose to honor their son’s life through organ donation—giving others a second chance at life.

They continued his legacy by founding #BGStrong Charities, built on Brantley’s motto: “Do right, be kind.” Through outreach, support, and sharing their story, the Griffin family works to educate and inspire others. As Matt says, “Organ donation is a beautiful, wonderful gift—you can turn a tragedy into a triumph.”

You have the power to help someone else’s story continue and through that decision, your story can continue too. Register as an organ, eye, and tissue donor today at MyStoryContinues.com, when obtaining your driver’s license or state ID, or through the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Through organ, eye, and tissue donation, your story continues.
