Just a quick reminder that the Rules clinics for Competitive Dance and Basketball cheerleading will close at midnight on Oct. 30th. The Basketball cheerleading clinic is the same clinic that was offered earlier for all cheerleading coaches. There is no need to retake this clinic if you have already completed one earlier. You can access this at learn.ghsa.net. ALL coaches must complete a rules clinic or be fined by the GHSA- this includes community coaches.
Cheerleading Competition hosts: Please submit the names of the teams competing in your competition on the MIS site (app.ghsa.net) as soon as you can. I will close all contracts after this date. Anyone who needs to access their contract after this date should contact me. The deadline to submit the competing teams is Friday, Oct. 30.
Dance Competiton hosts: Since this is the first year and many of your coaches are still emailing me daily, we will extend this deadline. However, please log in to the MIS site (app.ghsa.net) and submit the names of those teams competing.
Instructions for hosts: Log in to site, Look at the tab for scheduling, then contest schedules. Pick the correct schedule for cheerleading or dance, then Schedule form, click on your school, add contest, and add the teams. JV teams may be added at the bottom of the page.
Basketball cheerleading: I have had many inquiries about where your team can stand during the games. While I understand that it will take space away from spectators, they cannot be on the floor unless there is room behind the end line. If you do not have room behind the goals, you must have your team stand in the bleachers. This is due to COVID guidelines. Please use the quarter changes and half time to demonstrate your cheerleading skills.
Officials appreciation weekend: This is the final week of October. Please take the time to show appreciation to your officials at games and matches this week. This could be just a handshake (fist bump) to say "we appreciate you".
