Congratulations to West Laurens, which held back Haralson County 9-8 with a diving centerfield catch for the final out to win the 2023 GHSA Slow Pitch Softball State Championship presented by Mizuno. The sixth annual eight-team tournament was held April 19-20 at Twin Creeks Park in Woodstock. Competing in the tournament were: Oconee County, Haralson County, Jefferson, Franklin County, Sequoyah, Dodge County, Creekview and eventual champ West Laurens.
Appreciation goes to GHSA staff, umpires, Twin Creeks Park, TeamIP, sponsors and all players, coaches and fans that contributed to the event’s success.
