(Again) FLAG BELTS - Each player shall wear a one-piece quick release belt, without any knots, at the waistline with 3 flags permanently attached, 1 flag on each side and 1 in the center of the back. The flags shall be of a contrasting color to the opponent’s flags and contrasting color to the player’s lower body garment. NEW: Flags shall be one single color that contrasts any striping on the lower body garment, with no more than one 2 ½” X 2 ½” logo design. NOTE: Pop-off style belts are not allowed and if possible do not wear flag belts with yellow flags, as they can be confused with the official’s penalty flags.
GAME JERSEYS - Jerseys shall be long enough so they remain tucked into the pant/shorts during the entire down and shall not cover any part of the flag belt. With the onset of colder weather this rule applies even when wearing a long sleeve shirt or hooded sweatshirt. NOTE: Failure to comply will result in the player being directed from the field of play.
FLAGS: Flags shall be one solid single color that contrasts any striping on the lower body garment, with no more than one 2 ½” X 2 ½” logo design. Schools were informed of this new rule last January. Failure to comply will result in penalties for non-compliance of NFHS/GHSA Policy.
SPORTSMANSHIP – Unsporting behavior by players and coaches is a growing concern. Berating opponents and or officials will not be tolerated. When coaches are ejected, they MUST leave the confines of the stadium.
GAME RESULTS – The reporting of results of ALL games in the MIS System is mandatory and may be submitted by the schools Athletic Director or Head Coach. This process is critical to maintain accuracy in the PSR Rating program. ALL games must be played until a winner is decided. The PSR system does not equate “tie games” in the ranking system. If you have ended games with a tie score it must be rescheduled to resume at the point of interruption and completed until a winner has been determined.
