Tucker Girls Ruled Out of State Basketball Tournament

Based on information gathered during a recent investigation, GHSA Executive Director Dr. James R. Hines has found Tucker High School to be in violation of GHSA by-law 1.70 concerning Recruiting and Undue Influence.

As a result, the Tucker girls basketball team is ruled to have been playing several ineligible players this season and, therefore, must vacate their position in the ongoing state basketball tournament.

This decision will necessitate several changes in the Class 6A girls bracket, which will be filled in the following manner:

The Tucker at Harrison game originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 27 is hereby cancelled.

Grovetown, which lost to Tucker in the first round, will have the opportunity to play at Bradwell Institute (defeated by Tucker in the second round) on Wednesday, February 28.

The winner of the Grovetown vs. Bradwell game will then play at Harrison on Thursday, March 1 in a quarterfinal round game with the winner advancing to the semifinals, to be played as scheduled at West Georgia College on March 3.

Game times in the above rescheduled games shall be made by the opposing schools.
